Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of corbeia.com, the Corbeia web app at app.corbeia.com, the Corbeia desktop app and related services ("Corbeia", "the Service"), which are operated by Corbeia ("we", "us").

By creating an account, buying a plan or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. To create an account or make a purchase you must be at least 18 years old, or have the permission of a parent or guardian. If you don't agree to these terms, please don't use the Service.

1. The Service

Corbeia is AI-powered software that transcribes audio and video, translates transcripts and creates subtitle files (such as SRT and VTT). It is a digital software product delivered online: paid features are unlocked on your account immediately after payment is confirmed, and nothing is shipped physically.

Free features are available without an account. Paid features ("Pro") require an account and a paid plan. We may add, change or remove features over time.

2. AI models and third-party services

• Speech recognition uses OpenAI's open-source Whisper models, which run on your own device (in your browser or in the desktop app). Your files are not sent to OpenAI or to us.
• Translation uses Google Translate. If you choose a translation language, the subtitle text is sent to Google to be translated.
• Models and app files are delivered through content delivery networks such as Cloudflare, Hugging Face and jsDelivr.

The availability and output of these third-party services are outside our control, and their own terms apply.

3. Accounts

You sign in with Google or with a one-time code sent to your email. Please keep your email or Google account secure and your account details accurate. You're responsible for activity under your account. A Pro plan is for one person and can be used on up to 3 computers, as shown on the pricing page. Don't share or resell your account. If you notice unauthorized use, email support@corbeia.com right away.

4. Plans and pricing

We offer Pro as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription and a one-time Lifetime purchase. Current plans and prices are shown on the pricing page in USD.

• Lifetime is a one-time payment that gives you the Pro features that run on your own computer, including future updates to them, for as long as we offer the Corbeia desktop and web apps.
• Cloud-based AI features that we may add later, which we pay for per use, are not included in subscriptions or Lifetime and are billed separately.

5. Billing, payment and automatic renewal

• Payment processor. Orders are processed by Waffo Pancake, our payment processor and merchant of record, which acts as the reseller of your purchase. Card details are handled by Waffo Pancake and are never stored on our servers. The charge may appear on your card statement under Waffo Pancake or Corbeia.
• Automatic renewal authorization. When you subscribe to a monthly or yearly plan, you authorize us, through our payment processor, to charge your payment method the plan price plus any applicable tax at the start of each billing period. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. This authorization stays in effect until you cancel as described in section 6.
• Renewal reminders. For yearly subscriptions, we email you before each renewal.
• Taxes. Prices do not include sales tax, VAT or GST. Where required, the applicable tax is calculated and collected at checkout.
• Price changes. We may change prices for new purchases. A price change for an active subscription takes effect only at a later renewal, and we'll email you in advance.

6. Cancellation

You can cancel a subscription at any time:

• Online (recommended): sign in at app.corbeia.com and go to Settings → Billing, open the menu next to your subscription and choose Cancel.
• By email: write to support@corbeia.com from the email address on your account.

After you cancel, you won't be charged again, and Pro stays active until the end of the billing period you've already paid for. We confirm every cancellation by email. Lifetime purchases are one-time payments and have nothing to cancel.

7. Refunds

• 14-day money-back guarantee. If you're not happy with a purchase — subscription or Lifetime — email support@corbeia.com within 14 days of the payment and we'll refund it in full. No questions asked.
• Billing errors. Duplicate charges or charges made in error are refunded in full at any time.
• Extended outages. If a paid feature is unavailable for more than 72 hours because of a problem on our side, we'll refund or extend your plan in proportion.
• After 14 days, payments are non-refundable except as described above or where required by law. Your statutory rights, such as the right of withdrawal in the EU and UK, are not affected.

To request a refund, email us with your account email and order number. We reply within 2 business days, and approved refunds go back to your original payment method, usually within 5–10 business days.

8. Billing disputes

If you think you've been charged in error, please email support@corbeia.com before disputing the charge with your bank. We reply within 2 business days and fix confirmed billing errors within 5 business days.

9. Your content and output

Your files and the transcripts, translations and subtitles created from them ("Output") belong to you. Files are processed on your device and are not uploaded to us, and we never use your content to train AI models. You're responsible for having the rights to the content you process and for how you use the Output.

Speech recognition and machine translation can make mistakes. Please review Output before relying on it, and don't use it as a substitute for professional legal, medical or financial advice.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Corbeia to:

• break the law, or create or distribute illegal, defamatory, harassing or fraudulent content;
• infringe anyone's copyright, privacy or other rights, including transcribing or subtitling content you don't have the right to use;
• create deceptive content that impersonates real people, such as deepfake captions or dubs meant to mislead viewers;
• process content that sexualizes minors or breaks child-protection laws;
• attempt to break, overload, reverse engineer or bypass the limits, security or licensing of the Service, or scrape it at scale;
• resell or sublicense access to the Service without our written permission; or
• break any applicable payment card network rules.

We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms.

11. Data and privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy at https://corbeia.com/privacy. Card data is processed exclusively by our PCI-DSS compliant payment processor, Waffo Pancake, and is not stored on our servers.

12. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or the accuracy of AI output. We don't guarantee that output will be accurate, complete or error-free.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or revenue. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

14. Term and termination

These terms apply for as long as you use the Service. You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by emailing us. We may suspend or close your account for a serious breach of these terms, suspected fraud or when required by law. If we close your account for any other reason, we'll refund the unused part of any prepaid period.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes, we'll email account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. The version and date at the top of this page show the latest version. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

16. Disputes

Before starting any formal proceedings, please email us so we can try to resolve the issue informally. If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest stays in effect. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us.
